Breyer's Indian Pony characterizes the spotted horses developed by the Nez Peerce Indians.  these ancestors of the Appaloosa were known for their speed and agility, which were helpful in a life of hunting and trading.  Decked in traditional garb worn during war and ritual ceremonies, the pony is accompanied by a girl, Leotie, wearing a replica of Native American buckskin dresses that were made of skins of deer, moose, elk and buffalo.  The 8 inch doll outfit and tack are all made in leather with intricate hand beading and stitching detail.
